Frequently asked questions
Answers about buying, selling, and certification on CertaCars.
Is CertaCars a car dealer?
No. CertaCars is a marketplace that connects independent dealerships with buyers and other dealers. It does not own inventory or sell vehicles directly.
Does CertaCars certified mean the car has a warranty?
No. Certification confirms inspection evidence was reviewed. Any warranty is stated separately by the selling dealer or a provider.
Who can see wholesale prices?
Only approved, verified dealers inside the Dealer Exchange. Wholesale pricing is never exposed on the public retail site, feeds, or metadata.
Can a dealer list one car in both markets?
Yes. A dealer enters one vehicle and can publish it to retail, wholesale, or both — with independent prices for each audience and synchronized availability.
Do I need an account to browse?
No. Anyone can browse retail inventory. A free buyer account is required to save favorites, make offers, or request test drives.
How does a dealer get wholesale access?
Dealers submit a registration with license details. CertaCars reviews and verifies credentials before approving wholesale access — it is never granted automatically.
What happens when a vehicle is sold?
Availability updates across both channels immediately to prevent double selling, and the active listings are updated or removed.
Is this a live marketplace?
This is a demo build showcasing the product. Inventory shown is clearly labeled fictional test data for development.
